Teaching Textbooks: I wanted to give an update on what is still available and some new grades that have come in over the past week.

Some sets are just the discs and some have the workbook. The sets must be sold as is–they can’t be broken apart. All are the most current edition and are 40% off TT catalog price. You can order the workbook separately from the company.

The Life of Fred I mentioned the last time is gone.

Farm Warning: We had yet another chicken killed by a customer’s children this week.  When this became a real problem several years ago (chickens chased and killed, sheep and goats hit with sticks and rocks) we removed the outdoor play area, fenced in the chicken yard, and also posted a notice that kids must stay with their parents while visiting. Unfortunately, a few renegade chickens still get over the new fence, so you will still see one or two walking around the property. Short of just locking them in the (hot) coop all day when the store is open, there is not much I can do about it.

Please keep your children with you in the store while you shop. They should at no time be walking around the parking lot or property on their own. They are welcome to go look at the animals with a parent. If they need to use the bathroom, we freely offer the one in our house, but I will insist on a parent going with them.

The kids this week weren’t being bad or malicious, they were just being kids. But chasing a chicken is enough to kill it–they literally die of fright. So please educate your children on being kind to animals! But while visiting, keep them with you. This is for the children’s safety as well as this animals’. This is our home and the animals’ home–we aren’t set up to be a petting zoo or a Chuck E Cheese’s.  Thanks for your understanding (and for having read this far!)
