Consignment Policy Change:
After this quarterly payment (5/6 of you will have received checks already–I will get these ALL out before Christmas), I will be switching to annual payments. That means I will mail a check to consignors once a year (Oct-Dec) for those accounts over $25. As usual though, I will know your balance at the end of every month and am happy to pay you in cash if you come into the store (this is actually easier for me–so feel free to ask every time you come in if you want.) If you prefer to just have the money left on your account and not mailed, let me know, and I will change the status on your account to a hold. Unlike other consignment shops, your money never ‘goes away’ after a certain amount of time even if it doesn’t meet the mailing threshhold. If I choose to close the account due to inactivity (2 years with no sales) I will mail you whatever’s in it as long as you have more than $4.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. It’s basically due to growing pains. With 722 active accounts, it is just taking me too long to mail checks quarterly. Some day when I grow up maybe I will get the whole kit and caboodle computerized. 🙂 Until then it’s done by hand.
